Fondazione Il Bisonte, via S. Niccolò, 24r – Firenze
Twenty-nine etchings are taking part in the eighth edition (2015-2016) of the Leonardo Sciascia amateur d’estampes Award. After the exhibition in Palermo (Whitaker Foundation), the Prize reaches Florence where at the Il Bisonte Foundation, historical partner of Sciacca’s engraving event, it will be possible to admire the 29 works in competition until 22 May. Fourteen works will also be exhibited among the most representative of one of the most original exponents of twentieth century art graphics to whom this year’s edition of the Prize is dedicated: Luigi Bartolini, an artist from the Marche who died in 1963, one of the most loved and collected by Leonardo Sciascia. The Sciascia Prize and the writer’s passion for the figurative arts will be discussed during the painting at the Bisonte. In addition to Rodolfo Ceccotti and Simone Guaita who will do the honors of the house together with Francesco Izzo degli Amici di Sciascia, Alessandro Tosi, director of the Graphic Museum of Pisa, Giorgio Marini of the Drawings and Prints Department of the Uffizi and Luciana Bartolini will speak.
