The courses, held in specially equipped workshop-classrooms, focus exclusively on the traditional printmaking techqnieus techniques: preparation, using an entirely manual and traditional working method with no resort to either photomechanical or digital processes. The objective is to help students develop their grasp of the characteristic values of the language of printmaking, offering them an opportunity to master the technical medium, to achieve a more complete expressive freedom and to give solid base for personal research and experimentation. The teaching method is based on practical workshops, where the key theoretical notions are immediately rendered concrete in the form of precise movements and technical processes executed by the student under the direct supervision of the teacher, as used to happen in the Renaissance botteghe. The constant contact with students and the limited numbers, means that teaching can be tailored to suit individual needs and levels of proficiency, whilst working within a clearly defined and tightly organized annual programme.
The lessons are mainly in Italian but the teachers also speak English and Spanish.
