The Summer School, now in its second edition, is designed with the aim of promoting contemporary artistic research and new languages related to printmaking, thanks to a high-level training offer that aims to merge the tradition of engraving art with contemporary and experimental techniques.
The 40-hour intensive course will take place from 11 to 15 July 2022, from 9.30 to 13.00 and from 14.00 to 18.30, within the historic studios of the School, located in the evocative former stables of Palazzo Serristori in via del Giardino Serristori 13r , in the heart of Florence.
The lessons will include practical laboratory activities as well as lecture and talk with curators, artists and professionals in the sector.
Under the guidance of master engravers, the participants will deepen the contemporary techniques of printmaking in order to apply them to their artistic path, with attention to its multiple forms of expression, which over time change and are implemented through the use of new technologies, while maintaining strong foundations and peculiarities that sanction the autonomy of language.
At the end of the course, a show off of the works produced will be held in the presence of the public and attendance diplomas will be awarded.

The Printmaking Summer School aims to enhance the lithography technique that has always represented the flagship of the Il Bisonte, founded in Florence in 1959.
The 32-hour intensive course will take place from 4 to 7 July 2022, from 9.30 to 13.00 and from 14.00 to 18.30, in the historic laboratories of the Foundation, located in the evocative former Stables of Palazzo Serristori in via del Giardino Serristori 13r, in the heart of Florence.
The participants will be divided into three small groups and, under the guidance of Professor Samuele Arcangioli and master lithographers, will learn the secrets of the technique applied to three different materials: stone, wood and zinc. The groups will therefore alternate in a circular manner on the various stations in order to grasp the specific differences between the various supports while maintaining the foundations and peculiarities that enshrine the autonomy of language of lithography compared to all other art printing techniques.
At the end of the course there will be a show off of the works produced and attendance
diplomas will be delivered.
In order to favor the most promising students, 2 scholarships have been activated, with a total value of 580 euros.
