For more than ten years at the Il Bisonte Foundation we have hosted a small artistic typography, consisting of several dozen drawers of lead typefaces, a saroglia press, two small proofprinter and a third larger one. King of the house is a Dell’Orto vertical press.

We organize typographic composition workshops here, leaving the participants free to give shape to their creativity by helping them to compose a text with letter types, both with lead and large wooden ones.
The works can take the form of elegant traditional compositions, posters, figures built from letters, patterns and whatever the imagination may suggest.

During the workshops, some historical notes on typography are given and the material is presented, then we proceed with an introduction of the typographic technique, a project is developed and immediately we delve into the practice of composition.
